SUMMARY:Opening Keynote
DESCRIPTION:The Economy: Terrific, Tepid or Terrifying\nAttend this fast-paced and fun talk to learn about the condition of the economy with an emphasis on overall GDP growth, labor market conditions, wage growth, household wealth, trade policy, inflation and inflation expectation, the Fed and interest rates, and the yield curve. Eisenberg will then discuss the Republican tax cuts passed in late 2017 and the expiring bipartisan two-year spending package passed in early 2018 and how they are likely to impact the economy, and our fiscal condition in 2020 and beyond as well as the magnitude and timing of the next recession. The talk will then pivot towards residential real estate including housing prices and rents, demographic trends, construction activity, input costs, regulation, existing home sales activity, credit availability, the homeownership rate, and vacancy rates. The discussion will close by comparing economic conditions in all 50 states and economic conditions across the larger cities in Texas.\nElliot Eisenberg, Ph.D. is a nationally acclaimed economist and public speaker specializing in making economics fun, relevant and educational. Dr. Eisenberg earned a B.A. in economics with first class honors from McGill University in Montreal, as well as a Master and Ph.D. in public administration from Syracuse University. Eisenberg is the Chief Economist for GraphsandLaughs, LLC, an economic consultancy that serves a variety of clients across the United States. He writes a syndicated column and authors a daily 70 word commentary on the economy that is available at www.econ70.com.\nElliot will keep the audience captivated as he reviews the condition of the overall economy to include GDP, labor markets, wage growth, inflation and interest rates. He will also share relevant data on the overall condition of the US housing market and give you key information on the conditions in Texas.\nSponsored by\n\n
