How to Set Up Your Booth

Note: Please watch this instructional video (https://youtu.be/jxrACn_SFbg) that will demonstrate the following steps.

Getting to Your Booth

  1. If already logged in, go to the dashboard "backend" of the site by clicking "Texas Housing Conference" in the black menu bar at the top of your screen. If you do not see this black menu bar, you are likely not logged in with exhibitor login credentials.
  2. Click the “pages” link in the sidebar on the left of your screen.
  3. You should see your page (company) name; double click your page name to edit your page. Note: if you don’t see your page name, click “mine” in the menu area to filter the list to just show your page.
  4. Once your page loads, you will see both editable and non-editable items. IMPORTANT: DO NOT EDIT YOUR PAGE NAME OR ANY ITEM THAT SAYS “DO NOT EDIT THIS ITEM” Editable items (aka modules) include:
    1. Logo & Company Description
    2. Video
    3. Headshot
    4. Name & Title
    5. Contact Info & Social Links
    6. Email Address
    7. Handout 1 & Handout 2

To Edit Modules

Double click on any of the gray editable modules to edit the content. If you need to “undo” your edits, click the purple button with the “refresh” circular back arrow button. You can also click the blue “redo” circular forward arrow button or cancel your changes by clicking the red “x” button.

Logo & Company Description

Your logo and company description have already been added. We recommend that you do not edit your logo, but feel free to edit any of the content in your description. Once you have completed your edits, click the green check mark to save your work.

Video

A placeholder video has been added as an example. To replace the video – hover your mouse over the sample video until the settings “gear” icon appears, click the gear icon. IMPORTANT! To add your video, click the “insert URL” link on the left side of the screen and paste the URL to your video here. Videos can be uploaded to websites such as YouTube or Vimeo where you can get the share link to the hosted video.

Don’t have a video to display? You can disable this module so that it will not appear in your booth. To disable the module, click the 3 vertical dots on the module and select “disable” – you will see three icons representing a phone, tablet and desktop monitor – click all three of them until they all turn red in color. Your module will then turn a light gray indicating that it is disabled. To enable again, follow the same steps until all three icons are green.

Headshot

A placeholder image is shown – to replace, double click the placeholder image, upload your headshot (Your image size should be 213 pixels wide by 292 pixels tall.)

If you need to resize your photo, we recommend https://www.photoresizer.com/ where you can upload your image, choose crop, set your width to 213 and your height to 292, then click “file>save image as .jpeg” to save to your computer – you can now upload to your booth.

Name & Title

Type Your first and last name in the name field and your title in the Position field – click the green check mark to save and exit.

Note: Do NOT enter your social media links in the module OR make any other additions/changes in this module.

Contact Info & Social Links

Paste your company social media links in the spaces provided – you can add Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+.

Scroll down to the “body” section to add your Address and contact information.

Note: To avoid large spacing between lines, hold down the shift key on your keyboard when hitting “enter” or “return” to go to the next line.

To make your website link “live”, highlight the text and select the “link” icon in the dashboard to paste your URL (you will need to include the full URL with http:// at the beginning).

Note: Do NOT add Name/Title information OR make any other additions/changes in this module.

Email Address

Click the “link” tab in the module edit window to add your email address. IMPORTANT! Do not remove the mailto: text or your button link will not work. It should look like mailto:youremailaddress@yourURL.com (replacing everything after the colon with your email address)

Note: Do not make any other edits in this module.

Handouts 1 & 2

This section requires both an image (.jpeg) of your hand out and a link to the image or PDF version. If you need to convert your PDF handout to an image go to https://pdftoimage.com/

A placeholder image is shown – to replace, double click the placeholder image, upload your image (Your image size should be 900 pixels wide by 1165 pixels tall.)

If you need to resize your photo, we recommend https://www.photoresizer.com/ where you can upload your image, choose crop, set your width to 900 and your height to 1165, then click “file>save image as .jpeg” to save to your computer – you can now upload to your booth.

It is here you will also upload your PDF if you want people to download a PDF of your handout.

You will need to copy the link to your uploaded PDF or .JPEG of your hand out before returning back to the module. You will find the link to your PDF or JPEG in the “attachment details” area of the screen. Copy the link, then return back to the module, click the “link” tab and paste your link in the field provided.

Don’t have handout(s) to display? You can disable these modules so that it will not appear in your booth. To disable the module, click the 3 vertical dots on the module and select “disable” – you will see three icons representing a phone, tablet and desktop monitor – click all three of them until they all turn red in color. Your module will then turn a light gray indicating that it is disabled. To enable again, follow the same steps until all three icons are green.

To Save Your Changes

You must click the blue “update” button on the right side of your screen to save all of your edits. If you attempt to leave the screen and have not saved, you will be prompted. Click “stay on page” to return back to your page to click the “update” button.

To Change your Avatar/Photo for Chatting

Your default avatar will appear in the chat area you will use to communicate with those visiting your booth. To change your avatar:

From the admin dashboard: Click the “profile” link in the menu on the left side of your screen (must be logged in to the admin area of the site), scroll to the bottom of your profile area to upload your photo or logo. You must upload either a .jpg or .png file. File sizes are limited to 1MB.
