86th Legislative Session Update

The Texas Legislative Session this year was one of the most active for housing issues in quite a while. Your advocacy organizations were on the ground and blanketing the Texas Capitol from day one making the argument for common sense housing legislation across the spectrum of elected officials. Former TAAHP President and 2018 Jean MacDonald Award recipient, Toni Jackson, will moderate a discussion regarding this Legislative Session’s efforts by our key housing development trade organizations. Toni’s conversation with Roger Arriaga of TAAHP, Jeanne Talerico of TALHFA, David Mintz of TAA, and Scott Norman of TAB will highlight the results of their efforts to promote legislation that streamlines regulatory processes, reduces development costs, and clarifies ambiguous law so that our industry members can work to address the extreme shortage of housing supply in Texas.
